CICS management assures that CICS transactions have response time within defined service levels. The PIReporter for zOS CICS Management solution enables system managers to perform all the required analyses and planning needed for effective CICS operations. Some of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used in the PIReporter for CICS management include: CPU time, response time, transaction count, percent of transactions with more than one-second response time.

 

Presenting the KPIs of a single transaction to those of different groups that combine transactions of an application, CICS region or project enables system administrators to examine the KPIs from many meaningful angles. KPIs can be summarized and presented in daily intervals (each is one to several hours), as well as daily and monthly summaries. High response time (or other KPI) intervals can be analyzed to determine the cause(s) and to develop and implement corrections and improvements.
