PIReporter for zOS combines pre-defined reports with the ability to create custom reports that suit your specific needs. The easy-to-use interface allows you to define and execute reports without report authoring knowledge.
PIReporter for zOS is a combination of performance data collection and storage in the performance data warehouse, with integrated information analysis applications based on business models, pre-defined analysis solutions in the form of reports that include Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and KPI-driven analysis processes, including role-based, information-driven tasks in zOS management. It is, in essence, a combination of data, tools and embedded knowledge allowing you to plan, monitor and optimize your zOS performance.
Gain access to zOS and CICS performance data analysis using multiple dimensions, such as time-based analysis, system, job and transaction dimensions and analysis by classification (which may be specific to your organization) based on address space, project and job types and/or names.
Classification analysis allows a hierarchical look at performance data—with classes, projects and sub-projects defined based on the needs of your enterprise. The data can be used to relate the technical data of job classes, names, programs, etc., to real-world projects and activities, and can be easily used to provide information for IT cost and profit center analysis, capacity planning and more.
Pre-existing analysis solutions are real-world reports defined and used by zOS and CICS professionals at other installations. These administratively flexible reports include KPIs used in the analysis and they can be used as is, or customized to accommodate specific needs. The Performance Report Warehouse combines data storage and a tool to define data reports—it permits use of pre-defined performance analysis, reports, proven analytical solutions and best practices. Becoming a Performance Report Warehouse user permits access to pre-defined solutions and to a network of experts who continually expand and refine warehouse functionality by creating new reports and solutions.
